AMA Apprenticeship and Traineeship Services is an Apprenticeship Network Provider in WA.

Esteban’s on Whatley in Maylands have been operating for over 10 years and during this time have helped a number of apprentices to complete their training and go on to work as professional stylists.

They have an exciting opportunity available for an Apprentice Hairdresser to join their busy salon. A certificate II Salon Assistant qualification or some previous salon experience would be preferred along with being able to demonstrate a passion for hair styling and a willingness to learn.

The salon is open Tuesday to Saturday with 7pm closing on Wednesday and Thursday, you would be expected to work full time hours on a roster which will include 1 day to attend your external training.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will need strong communication skills particularly over the telephone, an empathetic manner, mature outlook and a willingness to learn and complete your apprenticeship training. You must have a demonstrated interest in hairdressing, with a view to training for an ongoing career and not just a job.

During your apprenticeship training you will undertake a range of tasks including:

• Arranging appointments and collecting payments
• Cleaning work areas and sanitising instruments
• Shampooing hair and conditioning scalps
• Colouring, straightening and permanently waving hair with chemical solutions
• Cutting hair with scissors, clippers and razors
• Providing advice on hair care, beauty products and hairstyles
