AMA Apprenticeship and Traineeship Services is an Apprenticeship Network Provider in WA.

We are working closely with the Automotive Institute of Technology (MTA) to help them source a 1st year Spray Painting Apprentice for a position based in the Central Perth area.

Suitable applicants must have completed a certificate II pre-apprenticeship qualification. A driver’s licence is essential along with the ability to obtain a Police clearance.

As a Spray Painting Apprentice you will undertake a range of tasks including:

• removing rough spots on vehicle panels
• sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders
• masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper
• colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
• applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
• touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
• removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
• painting signs and artwork on vehicles
• treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals

Apprentices are hands on from day one. You will learn all aspects of becoming a qualified spray painter through formal training and one-on-one coaching and support from the management team.
